The visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Uzbekistan is drawing a wider media attention from press and media professionals in Qatar and Uzbekistan considering the anticipated outcomes from this visit, in terms of the level of economic, trade agreements and investments between the two countries.
Press and media professionals in the two countries underscore that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani will be a great milestone in moving the relations between the two countries to a new phase of cooperation in economic and trade fields and promoting them to the same level of the distinguished political ties connecting the two countries.
In statements to Qatar News Agency , director of Qatar Press Centre (QPC) Sadiq Mohamed Al Amari said the visit of HH the Amir to Uzbekistan is highly crucial especially that the State of Qatar believes in the importance of boosting cooperation and consolidating ties with Central Asian countries, citing the third round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in the State of Qatar and the Republic of Uzbekistan that were held in in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, during which they discussed bilateral cooperation ties, along with other topics of common interest.
He said the opening of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Tashkent recently paved the way for further cooperation, especially in industrial and investment fields, outlining that officials in Uzbekistan are anticipating the visit of HH the Amir would give a powerful impetus to deepen a multi-lateral partnership and open a new chapter in developing relations between the two countries, as the two sides are expected to agree on laying out frameworks to develop industrial cooperation, including a joint action plan to develop shared trade and investment projects in energy, petrochemicals, agriculture, food industries, tourism, and information technology and other sectors, in addition to preparing for signing agreements on mutual protection and promotion of investments.
A business forum will be organized in Tashkent with the participation of representatives from major business circles in the two countries to set a plan for implementation of a joint funding process for a number of infrastructure projects, establish a direct cooperation between Qatari and Uzbek commercial banks in the presence of HE Governor of Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani and establish a Qatari and Uzbek joint businessmen council, Al Amari pointed out.
For his part, Editor of Al Watan newspaper Fahad Al Emadi stated to QNA that the visit of HH the Amir to Uzbekistan would contribute to upgrading joint cooperation between the two countries to greater levels in multiple fields and making a major shift in relations, as well as launching comprehensive strategic partnerships, adding that such a visit has significant indications, because the two countries are bound together by interests and common denominators.
The visit, he said comes in a phase that requires further coordination and cooperation from the two countries on a variety of regional issues on the arena through promoting and advancing relations to higher levels to achieve ambitions of the two friendly people, pointing out that the visit will give impetus to cooperation in economic, trade and investment fields.
He indicated that the Qatari media views the visit with interest which is vitally important to develop cooperation between Qatar and Uzbekistan, establish a comprehensive and long-term cooperation and develop relations based on principles of respecting shared interests, especially that Uzbekistan has numerous promising opportunities.
