Wide Qatari-Uzbek Media Interest in HH the Amir’s Visit to Uzbekistan -1-

Several Businessmen in Uzbekistan considered the visit of HH the Amir to their country a great opportunity to develop cooperation ties between Uzbekistan and Qatar in various political, economic, trade, cultural and tourism fields and affirmed that the good reputation the State of Qatar has received, along with the comprehensive development it witnesses make Qatar a model of success, especially that Uzbekistan currently follows the path of openness and development prompting it to capitalize on successful experiences.

Editor-in-chief of the Uzbek language Newspapers Khalq Sozi “People’s word” and “Narodnoye Slovo” Utkir Rahmatov said successes that have been achieved by the State of Qatar over the recent years made it a focus of the world, especially countries that are close to Qatar including the Central Asia. Therefore, rapprochement with Qatar is very important at this time in which Uzbekistan is determined to take advantage of the trailblazing experiences in development, he pointed out.

In his statements to QNA, Rahmatov added that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament had demonstrated to the world an exceptional ability of a small country in hosting major events which indicates that the State of Qatar abounds with enormous potential, along with the incredible ability it possesses thanks to years of work and perseverance, pointing out that the visit of HH the Amir to Uzbekistan is a crucial station to move the relations between the two countries to a new phase of cooperation in economic and trade fields and promote them to the same level of distinguished political relations that bring the two countries together.

He underlined that the Uzbek people proudly and respectfully see the Qatari people as a model in development and success and they concurrently preserve customs, traditions and tenets of the true religion which, he said are common ties the Qatari and Uzbek people are bound together by them, outlining that the “People’s word” Newspaper is very interested in the visit of HH the Amir to Uzbekistan, recognizing that it will make a paradigm shift in the cooperation between the two countries, especially in terms of trade and investment opportunities, stressing that the State of Qatar is the most promising investors of his country.

Great outcomes are expected from the visit of HH the Amir to Uzbekistan and the visit will hopefully usher in a new era of relations between the two countries in all fields, especially in economic, social, cultural and tourism fields, Rahmatov said.

The official Uzbek media considers the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Republic of Uzbekistan a seminal moment that will make a difference in bilateral relations between the two countries and promote cultural, economic and social cooperation.

Editor-in-Chief of the Uzbek language newspaper Yangi Uzbekiston New Uzbekistan Salim Doniyorov said the visit of HH the Amir to the Republic of Uzbekistan is of crucial importance at multiple levels as there is a common desire from the part of the two countries’ leaderships to boost cooperation between them.

In addition, Doniyorov talked about the promising cooperation fields between the two countries, especially in trade, economic and investment exchange, adding that cooperation in LNG is highly important, because Qatar possesses a wide expertise in this field and Uzbekistan has established one of the LNG terminals drawing on Qatar’s experiences and expertise.

He also cited other promising cooperation fields, such as agriculture, industry and tourism sectors, where vital investment projects can be launched in those sectors with the engagement of public and private sectors.
