UAE Ambassador opens Sewing Training Centres

AMMAN, — Bilal Rabie Bilal Al Bodour, UAE Ambassador to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, opened, on Tuesday two Sewing Training Centres at Tafilah and Ma’an Governorates in the south of Jordan.

The two centres are run under the supervision of Abu Bana Society for Social Development and Al Badia Society for Women’s Development.

Al Bodour was received by heads of the associations and senior officials at the two governorates. The project which is in line with the #Year of Giving Initiative 2017, is funded by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment to provide assistance to the underprivileged. The philanthropic body also provided a monetary fund for the UAE Embassy in Amman to establish five sewing training centres in a number of areas in Jordan.

Al Bodour said that the project aims to provide job opportunities by training women in the sewing profession in cooperation with local institutions.

The population of the two governments extended thanks and appreciation to the UAE leadership, government and people for carrying out charitable and development initiatives in Jordan, which reflect the friendly relations between the two countries in various domains and avenues.
