Taking place in Al-Bataeh Park, the fifth annual Al-Bataeh Folk Festival is hosted by the Municipal Council, Al-Bataeh Municipality, and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the theme “The deep-rootedness of heritage and the originality of customs and traditions.” Many of the festival’s events are aimed toward kids and young adults.
According to Saeed Al-Hafri, director of the Al-Bataeh Social Services Department, the festival is a highly anticipated event that draws people from all over the region.
According to Al-Hafari, the Al-Bataeh office takes part in this significant event every year in order to highlight the services it offers to the general public. This is especially true in the areas of community and health education.
Al-Hafari singled out the “distinguished participation” of the “Al-Asala” Club’s senior citizens, who ran workshops on perfumes, incense, cooking, palm fronds, and the activities of a home production centre, as well as programmes for young people on the richness of Emirati heritage, customs, and traditions.
He explained the role that notable families had in the home production centre’s operations.
