Sharjah Ruler appoints Bodour Al Qasimi as AUS President

Sharjah, Supreme Council Member and Sharjah Ruler H.H. Dr. Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, has appointed Shaikha Bodour bint Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi President of the American University of Sharjah (AUS) and chairperson of its board of trustees.

Dr. Shaikh Sultan said that after 25 years as President of the AUS, it was time for him to step down and give the opportunity to a new generation to lead the institution with the assistance of the university chancellor and the board of trustees.

Shaikha Bodour was selected based on her knowledge and competence to be the president of the AUS, he said.

He added that he “will not be far from Shaikha Bodour or from the AUS.”
