SEWA organises workshop on natural gas

Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) organised a workshop on how to deal with emergency situations and the optimal use of security and safety equipment in various locations to develop the skills of engineers and technicians working in the field of natural gas and qualify them to deal with challenges and address risks.

A number of engineers and technicians from the Natural Gas Department participated in the workshop.

Engineer Amna Bin Hadda, Director of the Natural Gas Department at SEWA, confirmed that the authority places the security and safety system at the forefront of its priorities to protect citizens, residents and its human cadres, and is working to implement a comprehensive assessment and management programme to address the risks facing projects and the resulting potential impacts.

She added that during the training programme for natural gas management engineers, a number of important topics of security and safety procedures at work sites were reviewed, awareness of the importance of environmental conditions prevailing in work sites, the adoption of an organised and orderly approach to health and safety management, and the implementation of these controls to reduce risks to the lowest level, and the importance of maintaining equipment in such circumstances.
