SEC reviews performance report of General Budget

SHARJAH, The Sharjah Executive Council, SEC, reviewed the reports of the performance of the General Budget and the achievements of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, on Tuesday.

The council, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the SEC, also adopted operational proposals of the Sharjah Healthcare City.

Following the ratification of the minutes of the previous session, Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Central Finance Department, reviewed the performance reports of General Budget, as part of the emirate’s strategy to provide a decent life for its citizens and residents in the emirate. Sheikh Mohammed underscored the importance of the performance and outputs in various government entities toward further developing recommendations. The council praised the Central Finance Department for its effort in developing the financial system.

Thereafter, the council reviewed the achievements report of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work 2016-2018. Afaf Ibrahim Al Marri, Director of the Sharjah Social Services Department, pointed out that the award has a strategic plan that reflects the department’s vision to achieve its objectives.

A number of suggestions of the Sharjah Healthcare City, were also adopted. Commenting on this, Abdulla Ali Al Mahyan, Chairman of Sharjah Health Authority, pointed out that the authority seeks to provide all services and infrastructure for investors in the Healthcare City.

The achievements report of the Sharjah Foundation to support pioneering Entrepreneurs (RUWAD) of 2018 were also reviewed by the council. Sultan Abdullah bin Haddah Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Sharjah Economic Development Department and Chairman of the Board of Director of RUWAD, highlighted the foundation’s keenness to provide opportunities and support to the citizens’ projects.

The report also included the statistics and graph that showed an increase in the membership of RUWAD, brief classification of the projects, and the most important external participation. The council praised RUWAD for supporting small and medium enterprises.

The agenda of 14th session of the Sharjah Consultative Council’s fourth ordinary session of the ninth legislative chapter, which will be held on Thursday, 4th April 2019, was also reviewed by the Council.

In conclusion, the Council issued a number of resolutions that would achieve the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah in providing the best services to citizens and residents in its various cities and regions.
