SEC reviews Business Continuity Committee’s report
SHARJAH, The Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), under the chairmanship of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the SEC, reviewed the report of the Business Continuity Committee during its weekly meeting.
In the presence of H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the SEC, at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office, the meeting discussed a number of governmental issues on the agenda, reviewed the work progress in various departments and authorities of the emirate, and followed up the completion of various development projects in all cities and regions.
The business continuity committee report presented the objectives of the local committee in the emirate, including cooperation between government entities to establish and implement a national standard for business continuity, enhance local capacities and capabilities, increase readiness, and support emergency, crisis, and disaster management systems.
The report also included the results of the business continuity management programme in government entities, which seeks to create specialised teams, provide training to personnel, and monitor the entities’ readiness in accordance with the national standard. The SEC also reviewed the Sharjah International Airport Authority’s 2022 annual report, highlighting achievements in areas such as passenger numbers, aircraft movements, and airfreight volume.
The report showed that Sharjah International Airport experienced growth during its recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, with higher numbers than before the pandemic and an increase compared to 2019. The airport’s expansion plans, such as developing new facilities and services to accommodate the growing passenger and aircraft traffic, were also noted in the report. Additionally, the airport’s accomplishments, including international awards, accreditation programmes, and organisational initiatives, were highlighted.
The Sharjah Executive Council acknowledged the Sharjah International Airport Authority’s efforts in improving all airport services and systems and providing the best passenger experience.
