Salama bint Hamdan hosts banquet in recognition to Japanese PM’s wife

ABU DHABI, On behalf of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), H.H. Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, hosted on Monday a banquet in honour of wife of Japan’s Prime Minister, Akie Abe.

H.H. Sheikha Al Yazia bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Wife of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; H.H. Sheikh Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; H.H. Sheikha Shamsa bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan; H.H Sheikha Fatima bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, wife of Sheikh Nahyan bin Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; and H.H. Sheikha Shamma bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, wife of Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, President of Zayed University, attended the event.

On behalf of Sheikh Fatima, Sheikha Salama welcomed the spouse of the Japanese Prime Minister and wished that the visit would contribute to enhancing co-operation, exchange of expertise and experiences in the field of women empowerment between the two friendly countries.

Abe expressed her happiness at the exceptional development in women empowerment in the UAE. She also added that the qualitative achievements, especially assuming the highest ranks mirrors the support provided by the wise leadership of the UAE Women. She also extended thanks to Sheikha Fatima for the warm welcome.
