RTA marks ‘Learning Week’ with events replicating government drive

DUBAI — The Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, has launched Learning Week, marked by a set of activities replicating government policies in an exciting style.

Scores of RTA employees took part in the weeklong event focussing on innovation, happiness, positive energy, reading and creating a smart city.

During the events, Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), honoured Emirati inventor Adeeb Al Blooshi.

He praised the inventions of Adeeb and referred to him as a model for the upcoming Emirati generation. He commended his futuristic vision and contribution to the development of the nation.

Regarding the special week, Kawther Kazim, Executive Director of Human Resources and Development, Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, RTA, said, “The aim of these events is to develop a real-life model replicating the directives of our government and offering employees a platform for practising these theoretical policies and turning them into a reality on the ground.

“The week included several topics. On Innovation Day, speakers included Graham Brown-Martin and Emirati inventor Adeeb Al Blooshi, who delivered speeches, and several events were held. On the People Happiness Day, Stephanie Staples delivered a lecture and a visual presentation about RTA’s achievements in bringing happiness to people. The RTA also made an infographic for Reflections on the Happiness and Positivity Book, a platform for the happiest RTA department in 2016 and recreational activities, Kazim added.

On Positive Energy Day, Andrea Zoya and Sharif Maghribi spoke about the concepts of Positive Energy and its role in leveraging corporate processes, in addition to other events, such as the “Lego” game advocating positivity, and the Positive Leader corner.
