New performing arts programme at Manarat Al Saadiyat

ABU DHABI, The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has announced the launch of a dedicated performing arts programme at Manarat Al Saadiyat.

Aimed to support the budding community of actors, dancers and performing arts enthusiasts in the UAE, the programme features a series of initiatives for the public to participate in.

The diverse new programme, tailored for children, youth, adults and families, will be hosted at Saadiyat Island’s landmark cultural hub, and will comprise outreach programmes to engage the younger generation with enjoyable activities such as drumming workshops and open mic nights, as well as capacity building programmes which will support the artistic development of the budding community through the three ‘building blocks’ of storytelling, dramatic arts, and contemporary dance.

Alia Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Head of Manarat Al Saadiyat said, “As our audience and talent pool grows in Abu Dhabi, we have responded to create additional artistic and interactive programmes to enrich the community’s experience and to nurture their skills and talents. The performing arts programme at Manarat Al Saadiyat was born out of a need for young citizens of the capital to not only have a place where they are privy to art and culture in all forms, but also to participate in the rich cultural landscape of Abu Dhabi.”
