Nahyan bin Mubarak attends ‘Taawon’ annual dinner party

ABU DHABI, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, has attended the annual dinner party held by the Taawon Welfare Association in Abu Dhabi, which coincides with the Year of Zayed and the 35th anniversary of the association.

During his speech at the event, which was held at the Jumeirah Hotel at Etihad Towers, Sheikh Nahyan highlighted the UAE’s efforts, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to support Palestine and its institutions, which will serve the Palestinian community and people.

“We are promising the people of Palestine to support their fight and assist them in achieving their hopes and ambitions,” he said.

“As we are celebrating the Year of Zayed the Giving, the late Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, we recall him with pride and his words and actions to support Palestine and its capital, Jerusalem,” he added while stressing that the UAE, in light of its wise leadership, represented by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa, is following Sheikh Zayed’s legacy in supporting the Palestinian people and enabling them to create a bright future.

Sheikh Nahyan then welcomed the members of the association’s board of trustees and board of directors, and praised the association for its humanitarian and development success in Palestine over 35 years while expressing his support for its efforts to assist Jerusalem’s hospital network and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, UNRWA, as well as to preserve Palestine’s culture and revive its national heritage.

At the end of his speech, he wished Taawon further success in serving the community and people, and in helping the Palestinian people achieve their goals.

The association presented a commemorative gift to Sheikh Nahyan, which is a picture of Sheikh Zayed at the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem.
