Mohamed bin Zayed receives Russian Foreign Minister

ABU DHABI — His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, today received the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, who is currently on a tour in the region.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the Russian minister and his accompanying delegation, and discussed with him bilateral relations between the UAE and Russia, and means of enhancing them.

During the meeting, which was attended by H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, they reviewed a number of regional and international issues, and the latest developments in the region.

They also exchanged views on issues of common concern.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sultan bin Ahmad Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Director of National Media Council, Omar Saif Ghobash, UAE Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Mohammed Mahmoud Al Khaja, Director of the Foreign Minister’s office, Leonid Slutsky, Russian Member of the Parliament and Chairman of the Committee on International Affairs at the State Duma, Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, and Alexander Efimov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the UAE.
