Ministry of Education, ECSSR sign agreement to develop curriculum of country’s schools

ABU DHABI, The Ministry of Education has signed a cooperation agreement with the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research, ECSSR, to develop the curriculum of the country’s schools, as part of the ministry efforts to advance the national education system.

Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, stated that the ministry aims to strengthen its cooperation with relevant government and research organisations and departments, with the aim of developing the UAE’s education system and keeping pace with the ideology, vision and ambition of the UAE’s wise leadership, which has prioritised education and considers it the engine of growth and development for the post-oil stage and the country’s future, following in the footsteps of the founding leader, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who believed that education is the foundation of the advancement of the nation and its people.

He added that developing education is an integrated process that requires the combined efforts of the entire community and relevant organisations while praising the ECSSR’s support for education, whether through its annual education conference or through its relevant scientific publications.

Al Hammadi also pointed out that the ministry has cooperated with the ECSSR over many years to develop the national education system and the social studies curriculum of the country’s schools while describing their cooperation as successful.

He noted that the cooperation agreement signed between the ministry and the ECSSR will contribute to strengthening cooperation between both sides. It will serve the ministry’s efforts in elevating the education system in general, and the curricula in particular.

He further pointed out that the agreement will allow the ministry to benefit from the cumulative scientific and research expertise of the ECSSR and its scientific and research work, especially ones related to education and the efforts to develop it and benefit from the publications and scientific studies issued by the Centre in this regard.

This includes the great expertise, which the ECSSR has accumulated through studies, fieldwork and surveys to measure the directions of the students, parents and workers with regards to the results of the educational process and the ways to develop it.

Dr. Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the ECSSR, said that the Centre seeks to strengthen cooperation with the different national organisations and authorities to serve the UAE community and realise the ambitious goals of the wise leadership in achieving sustainable development, prosperity and advancement for the nation. He pointed out that the ECSSR is constantly ready to channel all its capabilities and energies towards any effort or action, which targets the advancement of the UAE.
