Mansour bin Zayed attends opening of Armed Forces Officers Club Open Sports Festival

ABU DHABI — H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, attended the official opening of the 21st Armed Forces Officers Club Open Sports Festival, which was held on Wednesday night at the Al Jahili Theatre in the club’s headquarters.

H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed praised the significant role of the Armed Forces Officers Club during the recent year in supporting sports and community events and attracting young athletes, reflecting the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, enabling the club to occupy a prominent position in UAE society.

He wished the championship’s participants success while calling on the championship’s organisers to continue working to promote its regional and international stature. He added that the championship has become a prominent sporting event that is committed to its sporting goals and promoting national identity, unity and loyalty to the nation and the wise leadership. He also thanked the organising committee for its efforts in organising the event.

He continued with the official opening, under the slogan, “Pride and Glory”, which included a complete video about the national journey of the wise leadership and their role in accomplishing historic achievements for the nation. The ceremony also included performances that the audience appreciated.

The event was attended by Lt. General Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Championship, as well as various government and sports officials and members of the diplomatic corps in the UAE.
