Japan imported 23.280 million barrels of crude from UAE in March 2017

TOKYO– Japan imported 23.280 million barrels of crude oil from the United Arab Emirates in March 2017, data released by the Agency for Energy and Natural Resource in Tokyo showed.

This accounts for 23.4 percent of Japan’s total crude imports, the agency that belongs to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, said.

Saudi Arabia provided 41.631 million barrels, or 41.9 percent of the total, while Qatar, Iran, Kuwait, Russia and provided 8.6 percent, 7 percent, 6.6 percent and 4 percent respectively.

Japan’s crude oil imports from Iran amounted in March to 6.962 million barrels.

Arab oil accounted for 80.006 or 83.6 percent of Japan’s petroleum needs in March.

Japan’s total crude oil imports in that month amounted to 99.312 million barrels, the agency said.
