Indian scholar praises UAE’s promotion of tolerance

ABU DHABI — The Indian scholar, orator, academic, former MP and National Secretary of the Indian Union Muslim League, Abdussamad Samadani, on Thursday praised the air of tolerance in the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

In a lecture that he delivered at the National Theatre, Samadani also praised the innovative initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

He noted that Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s recent visit to India left a positive impression on the Indian people and leadership.

This, he further noted, reflects the historic relations between India and the Arab World, as well as the importance of Arabic, the language of the Holy Quran, in the interactions between Indian and Muslim civilisations and for building religious and human ties.
