Fujairah Police organises women’s discussion session on damaging effects of drugs

FUJAIRAH, — The General Command of the Fujairah Police has organised a women’s discussion session for the awareness of the damaging effects and psychotropic use of drugs, in co-operation with the National Drug Prevention Programme, Siraj, as part of the activities of the “Refqathom Sheina” (Their Company is Bad) Campaign.

The session was held at the Fujairah Social and Cultural Association, hosted by Major Moza Massoud Al Yaacoubi from the Criminal Investigation Department at Abu Dhabi Police, First Lt. Sheikha Al Kaabi from the Fujairah Community Police, and Nawal Rashid Al Zeyoudi from the Family Correction and Guidance Unit at the Fujairah Court. The session was administered by the media personality, Shaikha Al Mesmari.

The session discussed the reasons for using drugs and their psychotropic use, as well as methods of preventing and protecting the society from drugs and limiting its spread while highlighting the efforts of relevant government authorities and institutions to combat and prevent its spread. It also discussed the role of undesirable company that leads to the use of drugs by youth and the absence of the family’s role in monitoring children.

The session also highlighted the importance and necessity of setting the principles, values and teachings of the Islamic religion in the souls of children, while urging the entire community to avoid prohibited and destructive influences such as drugs and others, which destroy the soul and lead to its death.
