Egypt condemns terrorist attacks in London

CAIRO — Egypt has called for concerted international efforts to fight terrorist organisations and weaken their sources of support in the wake of Saturday’s attacks in London that killed at least seven people and injured 48.

“Egypt renews its call to all countries of the world to unify against the phenomenon of terrorism, and those who back terrorist organisations with support, finance and arms, confirming country’s full solidarity with the British government and people in these hard times,” said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in a statement on Sunday.

The ministry condemned in the “strongest terms” the two terrorist attacks at London Bridge and Borough Market.

Egypt also extended its condolences to the government and people of the United Kingdom, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
