Dubai Customs, DJI celebrates graduation of 3rd batch of “Customs Investigation Diploma Programme”

DUBAI, The Dubai Customs celebrated the graduation of 29 employees who comprised the third batch of the “Customs Investigation Diploma Programme,” which was organised in cooperation with the Dubai Judicial Institute, DJI.

The ceremony took place in the presence of Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of the Dubai Customs, and Dr. Jamal Hussein Al Sumaiti, Director of the DJI, along with several executive directors, heads of departments and the male and female graduates, who completed the 75-hour programme in 15 days.

“We are continually developing our human capital to support national strategies and agendas. We are also improving the skills of our people, as we believe that they are our real wealth,” Musabih said.

“The Dubai Customs is following the strategic thinking of our wise leadership, to achieve the goals and plans of the UAE Centennial 2071. These plans will help us in the coming decades to attain a leading international stature,” he added.

“The programme is a long-term partnership between the Dubai Customs and the DJI, which involved the participation of many experts and specialists in customs investigation. The DJI provided the training and skills development,” he further added.

Since 2013, two other batches of 26 employees graduated from the diploma programme, whose total number of graduates has reached 55.

“The graduation of the programme’s third batch is an achievement for us. We train people to help provide the legal and judicial sectors with qualified national personnel. I am happy to congratulate the male and female graduates,” Dr. Al Sumaiti said.

Dr. Shaikha Al Ghafiri, Acting Director of the Dubai Customs Training Centre, said the programme’s objective is to develop customs investigation skills, to improve the efficiency and performance of inspectors.
