Bahrain University organizes 1st International Scientific Conference

Manama, Chairman of the organizing committee of the first International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Law, University of Bahrain, Dr. Salah Mohammed Diab, highlighted that the University of Bahrain has adopted a strategic plan to achieve the sustainable development objectives, in addition it also adopted many scientific and research initiatives and projects to benefit the progress of the society.

The conference was held in collaboration with the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), in the presence of Deputy President of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) Chancellor Abdulla bin Hassan Al-Buainain, president of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Riyadh Yusuf Hamza, and a large number of Arab jurists.

Dr. Salah said that as he addressed the International Scientific Conference held under the patronage of Information Affairs Minister, Chairman of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development, Ali bin Mohammed Rumaihi, entitled (Towards strategic planning for sustainable development in the framework of legislation and the judiciary).

He pointed out Bahrain’s interest in achieving the sustainable development goals and its keenness to enact legislation and develop administrative and judicial systems for a sustainable development for present and future generations. He noted that the development contributes to the empowerment of the state in economic, political, social, military and demographic areas.

BIPB Acting Executive Director for Political and Sustainable Development, Anwar Ahmed Ali, explained that the sustainable development is the development that meets the needs of the present and the next generations, pointing to economic growth, social integation and environmental protection are the key elements for development, adding that freedom, peace, security and respect for human rights have been included in the framework of the new development goals.
