Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation (MoFAIC) personnel and members of the diplomatic corps on a walking event on Wednesday at the Abu Dhabi Corniche, as part of the ministry’s healthcare programme.

This event was organised on the sidelines of the 11th Forum of Ambassadors and Heads of UAE Missions Abroad in the ministry in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, lasting five days.

The event started at 6.00 pm from the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation to the Sheraton Hotel in the Abu Dhabi Corniche, a total distance of 8 kilometres, with the participation of ambassadors, heads of UAE missions abroad, and the ministry’s officials, employees and their families.

H.H. He added, “Walking is one of the most important and effective sports,” while highlighting its preventive role in protecting people from the risk of disease. He also appreciated the active participation of the ministry’s personnel in the programme.

The healthcare programme of the MoFAIC seeks to encourage them to adopt healthy practices in compliance with international health standards.

The programme includes several initiatives, adopted in co-operation with strategic partners, to encourage employees to adopt healthy practices to overcome daily pressures, by providing an integrated health club for personnel of the ministry, and organising cultural and sporting activities and workshops for individuals and groups.
