Abdullah bin Salem heads Sharjah Executive Council meeting

SHARJAH — H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, headed a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council this morning.

The meeting discussed several important topics related to local overall development plans, the means of improving government services and the cultural, social and economic initiatives adopted by the emirate, to maintain the standard of living and a stable environment for local citizens and residents.

After approving the minutes of the previous meeting, the Executive Council reviewed the general budget performance report for 2017 and another report on the financial results of the first quarter of 2017, presented by the Finance Department. The quarterly annual report aims to track the financial performance of local government authorities while the performance report highlights clear indicators and shows a comparison between the level of imports and exports in the first quarter of 2017 from central and non-central government departments and independent authorities in Sharjah.

The report also shows the percentage rate of effective exchange in the general budget on the community development sectors, government administration, local infrastructure and economic development. The Executive Council presented its appreciation to the Finance Department for its work.

The Executive Council also issued Resolution No. 23 of 2017 to amend SEC Resolution No. 14 of 2015 regarding organisational positions in the “Committee of the Welfare Underprivilged Children in Sharjah.”

The Executive Council reviewed the comments of the Sharjah Health Authority about the recommendations of the Consultative Council of Sharjah, after discussing the authority’s policy. It also reviewed several decrees and laws that were issued by H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
