Officials in Sharjah highlight role of media in disseminating government messages

SHARJAH, A number of officials from the government departments in Sharjah stressed the importance of communication in strengthening efforts to provide the best services to every member of the society.

The officials stressed the importance of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau and its role in the development of the concept of government communication and support units. They praised the role of the bureau in organising the sixth session of the International Forum for Government Communication (IGCF 2017).

Sheikha Dr. Rasha Ahmed Al Qasimi, Assistant Director-General of the public health sector and central laboratories, Sharjah Municipality, said, “The print media, broadcast audio and electronic, all the media centres and channels of government communication, play an important and vital role in conveying the messages and visions of governmental or private institutions, as they connect and liaise between the public and the institute.”

She also praised the IGCF and Sharjah Government Media Bureau for putting Sharjah at the forefront in all fields.

Abdullah Maihan, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority, underlined the importance of the IGCF 2017.

Eng. Dr. Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), stressed the role of various bodies and institutions in supporting education and counselling programmes, especially for different community groups. He praised the role of the media and its importance in various fields.

Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, Director-General of Civil Defence in Sharjah, emphasised the importance of broadcast communication awareness in various fields, especially for civil defence units.

Aisha Ali Al Kaabi, Acting Director of Sharjah Children’s Centre, praised the sustained and considerable efforts of Sharjah Government Media Bureau and its role. She called on various parties and departments in the government to encourage its role.
