Montenegro President, Nepali PM visit martyrs memorial in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, Filip Vujanovic, President of the Republic of Montenegro, and his wife, along with Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Prime Minister of Nepal, visited the Wahat Al Karama (Oasis of Dignity) memorial today, built to honour Emirati heroes who died for the UAE.

Vujanovic was accorded an official welcome where he inspected the guard of honour before he laid a wreath at the memorial.

He was escorted by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun, Director of the Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, who delivered a briefing about the memorial.

In a statement he wrote in the book of honour, Vujanovic said the memorial reflects the values of loyalty and patriotism upheld by Emiratis through sacrifices they made to protect the stability of their country and continue its journey of glory and prosperity.

The Nepalese prime minister, accompanied by Saeed Hamdan Al Naqbi, UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Nepal, also visited the memorial, and was accorded a similar welcome in the presence of Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun.

He then laid a wreath at the memorial and toured the site.
