Health Ministry’s free breast cancer screening campaign benefits 453 women

ABU DHABI — The Ministry of Health and Prevention has successfully examined 453 women of all nationalities during its free breast cancer screening campaign.

The campaign, launched to raise awareness about the importance of detecting breast cancer in its early stages, is scheduled to continue until 15th June, and supports the wise leadership’s declaration of 2017 as the #Year_of_Giving.

Dr. Ayesha Abdullah, head of the Early Breast Cancer Screening Campaign Team, noted that the campaign successfully oversaw the screening of 241 women in Dubai at Festival City, and the Mall of the Emirates. 156 women were successfully screened in Sharjah at Sahara Mall and Mega Mall, and 55 women were screened at Ajman’s City Health Centre.

The campaign will continue in Umm Al Qaiwain on 7th and 8th of June at Al Khazan Health Centre, and will move to Ras al-Khamiah Mall on 11th and 12th of June. The campaign will conclude at Fujairah City Centre on 14th and 15th of June.

As part of the campaign, the ministry has also set up a mobile clinic to facilitate mammograms. The clinics will be equipped with specialised medical and technical staff, and will be operational from 21st June.
