ERC sends medicines, discusses co-operation with WHO in Aden

ADEN — The Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, has presented medicines for antiretroviral treatment, to the Regional Centre for Drug Supply in Aden, as part of its efforts to support the healthcare sector in Yemen.

Through this medical assistance, it aims to meet the humanitarian and medical needs of the population in Yemen. This is in the light of the dire conditions in the country because of the outbreak of communicable diseases such as cholera.

The UAE philanthropic body has responded to needs of the Yemenis in the liberated governorates through the provision of support for hospitals and health centres, especially for those affected by cholera.

Meanwhile, Khaled Al Mazrouei, ERC Director in Aden, met the Director of the World Health Organisation, WHO, and discussed the health conditions in the governorates due to the outbreak of cholera. They reviewed co-ordination efforts between the two sides to deliver medical assistance to the governorates under the control of coup militia.
