Empower’s third plant gets LEED Gold Certification

DUBAI, — Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation, EMPOWER, has achieved LEED Gold Certification from the US Green Building Council for its third cooling plant located in Business Bay in Dubai.

The certificate honours Empower’s efforts to preserve the environment, as the company is keen to ensure its projects are up to the international standards and its work goes in line with the US Green Building Council strategy to promote green buildings globally.

The certificate for its third plant shows the company’s commitment to adopt the most stringent sustainability policy implemented in the cooling services industry. This is not the first time that Empower has received a gold certification from the US Green Building Council. It has received this certification for its second business bay plant and for its warehouses in Al Qouz, which show its pioneering leadership in the green buildings field.

“We, at Empower, have been working under the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to adopt the latest international standards and eco-friendly policies in all our projects. We are really pleased to achieve this gold certification, which comes from a prestigious authority like the US Green Building Council. This certification will motivate us to put in more efforts to guarantee that all our future projects are compatible with international standards,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.
