Arab Family Organisation launches initiatives to support education

SHARJAH, — The Arab Family Organisation (AFO) has launched two initiatives, including a university education grant for talented students to complete their university studies, and a second initiative, called “Achieving Children’s Wishes”, to support the children of Arab families.

This was announced by Eng. Fathi Jabr Afaneh, Ambassador of the Arab Family Organisation, as he received the organisation’s delegation in his office in Sharjah, which included Jamal Al Bah, Chairman of the organisation, and Huda bint Yusuf, Secretary-General, who congratulated him on his selection as ambassador.

Both sides discussed the challenges, issues and problems faced by the Arab family, considering the increasing repercussions of globalisation and the role of the organisation and the Council of Ambassadors in enhancing the security of the Arab family, in light of the political and economic changes and natural disasters taking place in many countries in the region.

Fathi Jabr Afaneh expressed his appreciation to the Arab Family Organisation for giving him this honour. He highlighted the importance of this decision, signalling the desire of the organisation to promote the concept and value of the family in building and developing communities.

He stressed that families in the UAE have accomplished important achievements due to the directions of the wise leadership, while highlighting the provision of suitable social protection that guarantees their freedom, equality and human dignity.

Ambassador Afaneh also praised the efforts of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his ongoing support for the programmes of the organisation, noting that the organisation’s headquarters is in Sharjah.

Jamal Al Bah said that the Board of Ambassadors is an authentic partner to the mission of the Arab Family Organisation’s innovative work, which aims to support and strengthen family cohesion and promote solidarity among members of society, based on the noble Arab values that contribute to family security and safety.

Huda bint Yusuf praised the first initiatives of Ambassador Affaneh, stressing that they serve the family and are positive and effective steps in bringing pleasure to the members.
