Ajman’s Human Appeal International covers tuition fees of over 700 students

AJMAN, — The Human Appeal International, HAI, has provided more than AED1 million to pay the tuition fees of school students in the UAE, as part of its “Students’ Assistance Project” for the 2016-2017 school year.

The number of beneficiaries totalled 731, including 233 primary school students, 173 in preparatory school and 177 in secondary school, as well as 148 students from the Sudanese community in Ajman.

Aisha Al Rayaisa, Member of the Board of Trustees of HAI and Chairman of the Internal Assistance Committee, and Abdullah Al Awadi, Assistant Secretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs, handed over cheques amounting to AED1,314,900 to 71 school representatives.

Al Awadi explained that the project is one of the most important carried out annually by HAI as part of its educational programme within the framework to reduce the burden on families who cannot afford to pay for school tuition fees and enabling their children to continue their studies.

He added that the project also includes the distribution of school bags containing stationery and all other student requirements in the three stages of primary, preparatory and secondary education.

More than 20,000 students have benefited from the Students’ Assistance Project in the past few years.
