ADM commences live broadcast of media business continuity on du media cloud services

DUBAI, — Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADM) has successfully commenced a live broadcast of media business continuity on telecom operator du’s media cloud services.

ADM’s Live HD channel broadcast the solution end to end, and replicated the HD Live channel through the cloud to deliver business continuity, essentially running the entire broadcast operations in the cloud from ingest through to editing, MAM (media asset management), playout and live transcoding for broadcast and OTT (over the top) service.

“We would like to congratulate LIVE for being so quick to act and broadcast our media cloud solution for the first time in the region. At du, we continue to work with visionary partners, including Imagine Communications, who are not afraid to push the envelope when it comes to technology. We are very pleased to be pioneering the first operator-hosted media cloud solution,” said Hany Fahmy Aly, Executive Vice President Enterprise business, du.

The UAE operator du has created an ecosystem of industry leading cloud hardware and software partners specialised in media industry to become the first operator in MENA region and beyond to host a complete end-to-end media cloud services offering. This cloud-based solution improves performance while simplifying media management for all media stakeholders.

“We are happy to have partnered with du to deploy its innovative media cloud solution and bring next generation broadcast technologies to life for our stakeholders and viewers,” said Ali Buali, CEO of LIVE.

“This broadcast is not about getting any pictures on air but about guaranteeing that the continuity of ADM’s live operations is maintained from the cloud,” commented Paul Wallis, Imagine Communications’ Director of Sales in the Middle East and North Africa.

This cloud-based solution is fully integrated with ADM’s current on-premise infrastructure.
